The Ava Strong Shank is a great first pointe shoe for students with a broad, Roman (square) foot who need extra support. A reinforced #3.5 shank, 3/4 skived to zero, steadies the arch while still letting the foot stretch through the metatarsals and ankle, and the high, wide platform makes balancing at the barre easier.

• Moderate vamp with a slightly U-shaped throat that flatters the arch

• High, wide platform for easy balancing, shaped to encourage the dancer over the box

• Reinforced #3.5 shank, 3/4 length, skived to zero

• Plush, anti-slip microfiber lining reduces sweat and friction blisters

• Removable gel cushion eases pressure on the toes

• Internal heel counter for added structure at the heel

• Bias side seam lengthens the line of the foot

• Scored sole detail under the ball of the foot adds traction on the floor

• Sewing tip: the Ava has a bonded lining, so a medium needle with a small eye works best when attaching ribbons and elastics.
